Dominic Warzecha (Dom) started repairing watches as a hobby in the 1950s but it became his full time career in 1961 when Donald Stroebel's Jewelry Store hired him as a watchmaker's apprentice. In 1963 Dom opened his own retail watch shop in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. The watch shop survives today as Dom's Jewelers. Throughout his career he has repaired thousands of watches and clocks at his small shop for the people of central Minnesota. In his own estimation he boasts about repairing two-thirds of the area's watches.

Although mostly self-taught, Dom has attended many courses to enhance his repair skills. He is certified by the American Watchmakers Institute (AWI) and has repaired some of the world's finest watches.
